Treatments & Tips to Prevent Acne
Treatment & Tips
If the treatments or tips are not working or helping, please contact a doctor and schedule an appointment with a dermatologist.
In conclusion, acne affects adolescents mentally causing them to socially withdraw, to have low self-esteem, and be depressed. Acne makes teenagers feel unattractive, making them feel as if they cannot go out in public or socialize. They dislike how acne makes them look and fear what others might say about it, which impacts their mental health. Not only does acne cause social withdrawal, but it also affects self-esteem. Acne changes teenagers’ appearances, which lowers their self-confidence and increases their insecurity. This leads them to having negative thoughts about themselves. If teenagers continue to feel this way and socially withdraw due to their struggle with acne, they may develop depression. By being aware of the effects that acne has on teenagers’ mental health, parents can seek ways to help their children to treat and manage their acne.
